Mike Herring is a former Corrections Officer for the New York State Department Of Corrections. Herring started out as a two sport athlete in high school playing Baseball and Basketball for Christ the King High School. He attended John Jay College, where he studied Criminology. He later became a Corrections Officer and also an investigator for NY State. Mike began his officiating career at an early age when he began to umpire at his local little league. He then began to umpire and referee basketball for CYO. He got into high school officiating for both sports. For Basketball, he began officiating upon joining IAABO Board 119. For Baseball, he joined North Shore High School Umpire Group. Mike began to go to camps and elevate himself to do collegiate baseball. He initially started officiating for JUCO Baseball, where began to work for ASAP Region XV. He went on to join CBUAO Umpiring Group. He is a current Division II, Division III and Atlantic League umpire. He has umpired 4 CHSAA finals, 1 NYS Federation final, an ECC Division II final, and the Division II Regional this past year.
Will Jeffries began his umpiring career in 1987, working well over 1000 games. In 1995, he attended the Harry Wendlestedt School of Umpires which signaled the beginning of his professional baseball umpire career. After 5 years in the pros, he hung up his mask and began working Division I baseball for Nick Zibelli’s CBUA (now CBUAO) umpire group. Upon returning home after the 1999 season, he also continued to work on his craft by joining the North Shore HS umpires group. Jeffries walked away from collegiate baseball after the 2005 season to begin his officiating career in football, where he is currently a member of the CIP Division I staff. Over his career he has worked many championships at every level including after his return to college umpiring in 2018. In addition to umpiring Will has assigned for different umpire associations over his 30+ years in baseball. Now with his co-owner Mike Herring, they have chosen to teach and assign umpires to fill the void of quality umpires throughout the state of NY.
William Peck worked as an umpire since 2011, officiating over 1,500 games. He completed Wendelstedt Umpire School’s Professional Umpire Academy, where he received their prestigious Golden Mask award. He attended over a dozen Collegiate Baseball Umpires Assigning Organization (CBUAO) advanced mechanics camps for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) officials.
Throughout his career, he worked numerous playoff and championship games. Bill officiated NCAA Division II and III Conferences and was assigned two City University of New York (CUNY) Conference Championship series. He umpired for the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCBL) and the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and worked two HCBL Championship series. Through the North Shore Baseball Umpire Association (NSBUA), he officiated two Public School Athletic League (PSAL) New York City Championship games, two New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Regional Championship series, and two New York State CHSAA State Championship series. As a leader in the field, Bill assisted multiple organizations as an evaluator, clinician, instructor, and advisor.
Prior to enforcing the rules of the game, Bill maintained law and order as a police officer for the New York City Police Department. He was awarded several commendations, served as a 911 World Trade Center first responder, and retired after twenty years on the job. Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from St. John’s University. In addition to umpiring, he also enjoyed baseball as a player, coach, and manager.
